Publix Beaufort SC

The cake was delicious. It was moist and flavorful. All my guests thought it was a lovely cake.

When I started planning my wedding I wanted to make things simple so I decided I wanted a Publix cake. After browsing the website I realized the cake flavors were limited and decided to go with a very well known bakery that is considered to be one of the best in the southeast. After sampling the fancy cakes and also cakes from another "high end" Beaufort bakery I decided that the cake itself was not as good as Publix and for a cake that cost twice as much it really should have been better. Re-enter Publix. I went in on a Sunday morning and talked to the bakery manager and he said that they could make any flavor filling or icing but the cake flavor had to be yellow, marble, or chocolate. So I requested an almond buttercream with almond filling and yellow cake for most of the cake and the canoli filling with strawberries for one layer (we also got a chocolate grooms cake that was unbelievable). The cake blew everyone away. It was so so so good. I still get compliments on the cake and consider Publix the only bakery worth going to in Beaufort.The decoration of the cake was spot on; we modified a three tier to be a four tier. The delivery was on time. And, importantly, the buttercream held up in the heat.A+ for Publix!
