My reception dinner was actually held in the adjoining restaurant at 700 Drayton but I dealt with Candice, the catering manager at the Mansion on Forsyth. She was great, patient (even when I changed everything at last minute) and went beyond what I needed and paid for. She even got me Chivari chairs when it was outside my budget. She made everything so easy and smooth going. The catering itself was out of this world, the food was unbelievably delicious. 5 stars all the way.

The Mansion is so unique due to it's original structure and artwork-lined walls. Our ceremony was held in the marble courtyard, which is gorgeous. The reception was in the Viennese ballroom, which has so much of it's own character that decorating it was easy. I chose yellow, blue and orange flowers, which looked beautiful with the gold walls. We also had a bar and some patio furniture and high-tops outside in the courtyard during the reception. The food was guite good. The best part was working with Jeannie, who was so attentive and flexible. Even though she is incredibly busy and was planning about 20 other weddings while working with me, she always responded to emails in a timely and productive manor. We loved our wedding and wish we could do it all over!

This was by far one of my favorite vendors! We had our cocktail reception in the courtyard followed by our reception in the ballroom. Everything was flawless, gorgeous and hassle-free! You are not able to bring in outside catering, however, there food was terrific (we had plated dinners) and offered plenty of selection for our guests. I would recommend this venue without a doubt!!!

The Mansion was the perfect setting for my husband and I's wedding. The space is beautiful and all the artwork makes it even more beautiful! The food was delicious and service excellent. All the guests raved about the food quality and beauty of the ballroom. I can't recommend the Mansion enough!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Mansion on March 26, 2011. Jeannie Greene is the events coordinator there, and she is amazing! She was extremely attentive to our needs and made our evening awesome. The Mansion is definitely not a cheap place to have a wedding, but it is so very worth it. Our guests said that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. They are still talking about it. They could not get over the elegancy of the Marble Courtyard and the ballroom. It's one of THE most classy places to have a wedding in all of Georgia, and dare I say, the Southeast Coast? The ambiance is breathtaking and so romantic. We saved and saved to have our wedding there, and it was worth every dime and minute of our time.

We hosted 135 guests at The Mansion for our wedding in January. Many of our guests were from out of town and the ones that stayed at The Mansion raved about their stay at the hotel. The cocktail hour was held in the Marble Courtyard and the area that is the art gallery; the reception was held in the Viennese Ballroom. Leading up to the wedding Andrea Powers was our point of contact. She was always extremely helpful and responsive. My husband and I met with her multiple times as did my mother and I. Andrea was a huge asset leading up to and the day of the wedding. We had a lot of personalized touches and her staff incorporated everything just as we'd asked. The ballroom was stunning - everyone commented to us how beautiful it looked. I didn't get a chance to eat dinner, but our guests told us that the meal we chose was delicious. There were only two glitches: we were told that our dinner had been boxed and would be delivered to our room - by the end of the night we were starving and come to find out, our meal was apparently delivered to the wrong room. They have given us a gift certificate for a meal at any Kessler hotel though. The second glitch was that unfortunately one of our guests was too drunk and began destroying some of the favors we'd bought to give out at the end of the evening. The bar staff saw this happening and did nothing to stop it or intervene. I consider these small issues and everything else at The Mansion was amazing. We were all well taken care of and everything was beautiful.

I loved this place! I had a little confusion with the planning at the beginning, due to process of them changing event mangers. Once that was settled, it was perfect! Jeannie Green did an amazing job of keeping me on track and getting me everything I want! They have great recommendations for who to use for your wedding and the hotel it's self is gorgeous!!!! We actually used the new renovated "Fort", which is perfect for an outdoor wedding. Loved it!! :)

Prior to our wedding day my rating would have been a bit lower especially on quality of service and responsiveness leading up to the day, HOWEVER, a huge catastrophe happened courtesy of one of my wedding party members and Lindsey F.was on top of things. Lindsey and our coordinator set us up a whole new wedding in a matter of hours!! We dealt with 4 different contacts leading up to the day and when we were finally assigned to Lindsey we could not have been happier!!! SO, if you want to book a wedding here make sure to ask for Lindsey because she and the wait staff are the ONLY reason we had an incredible wedding (and as a side if you are going with one of their planners ask for Tricia Huddas!)!!!

My wedding day was amazing, and I am glad that I chose to have my reception at the Mansion. My ceremony was outdoors in one of Savannah's squares, so having the backup rain location of the Mansion's beautiful marble courtyard provided me with tremendous peace of mind! (Thankfully the weather cooperated, though!)
The banquet staff were wonderful - they are all extremely professional. They put on a HUGE number of weddings here, and the experience definitely shows. There were no little snags on the day of the wedding - all the small details were handled beautifully. The food was wonderful, our many out-of-town guests were very impressed with the hotel's unqiue decor, and we loved being able to head upstairs to the bar at the hotel restaurant for our impromptu after-party!
As I said, I am glad I had my wedding at the Mansion, and given the opportunity I would make the same decision again. However, I do have to pieces of criticism. Although I found that the event coordinators went out of their way to see that I had everything I needed, I found the front desk staff to be rather unhelpful. As our guests stayed elsewhere, this really only impacted me (as I got ready with my bridal party in one of their rooms beforehand) and my husband (we stayed over on our wedding night). My other critique is that over the course of my 11-month engagement, I worked with THREE different event coordinators - the staff turnover rate seems to be very high. Happily, almost every detail of our event was clearly communicated from each outgoing coordinator to the incoming coordinator, and the transitions went more smoothly than I would have anticipated, but it did make the planning process a little more stressful!

The Mansion played a huge role in making our wedding such a great time and beautiful evening. They did a great job on setting things up and working with us for close to flawless evening. The only issue we had was with reservations for our guests. Sometimes there were some confusion and a few guests were not put on our block. However, over all it was fantasic and highly recommend having a wedding here. It will be beautiful and just how you imagine it.

A WARNING TO BRIDES.
My bridesmaids and I stayed at the Mansion the night before my wedding. My mother in law booked the room and my sister in law called to confirm that we could take all of our photos there the day of the wedding.
So my photographer and I planned to shoot the getting ready shots in the hotel room and then do a mini bridal session around the Mansion the morning of my wedding. Afterward, we'd head across the street to Forsyth Square for bridal party photos (the main reason for booking this gorgeous yet VERY expensive hotel was for its backdrop and convenience).
As we were walking around, a staff member (I believe she identified herself as the on-site coordinator) asked if I was getting married at the Mansion. Giddy about my impending nuptials, I gushed about our ceremony details and how we were actually getting married at Whitfield Square.
Well I guess I should have lied because she told us we couldn't shoot photos there unless I was a bride getting married on their property! Um, heeello?!? We stayed there the night before and made them well-aware of my intentions to take photos when we reserved the room!
I was extremely upset about this and since then I've seen countless brides on photographers' websites who've taken portraits at the Mansion but had their ceremony elsewhere. Heck, I even saw tourists taking photos inside but since there was a professional camera involved, we were targeted!
In hindsight, I would have skipped staying there the night before the wedding because they made everything a hassle and only seem to care about in-house brides and not their paying overnight guests.
I gave them 2 stars because I did have a blast at their bar the night before with my girls and because the decor/rooms really are lovely.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is beautiful, no doubt about it....we were very excited to be having our wedding there. It is a very opulent and unique setting...not your typical hotel style ballroom. Our event planner Jennifer Hamill was a tremendous help to us in pulling everything together for our big day, she was an absolute joy to work with.
The only thing that we were unhappy with was the 22% service fee that is tacked on to EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING....from the rental of the Mansion's courtyard for our ceremony to the rental of the ballroom fro the ceremony to the food/beverages. Not only that, but they conveniently added the 7% sales tax on to the total before charging us the service fee...I'm not sure that it is even legal to charge a service fee on sales tax, but we did not find out about these additional charges until the week of the wedding, so at that point there was nothing we could do about it.

We fell in love with this venue as soon as we stepped foot inside - after looking at other places near by for our small wedding, we knew this was the place we wanted.
The whole wedding went smooth - The event planner was helpful with all my questions pre-wedding. The Mansion itself was beautiful - the rooms were great as well.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is absolutely amazing, and a wonderful place to host your wedding ceremony or reception! It is a little expensive, but everything is gorgeous! It can be difficult to plan a wedding from out of town over email, but it's worth it!

We were very happy with how everything turned out on the day of our wedding. The cocktail hour before our reception was beautiful as well as the entire reception hall. However leading up to our wedding day it was a struggle to get responsive answers from the staff which as you can imagine put additional stress on my wife. This was compounded because we were out of towners who planned our entire wedding over the phone and internet.

I choose the Mansion because of the beauty (great for photos) and I was getting married in Forsyth Park and could just walk across the street to the ceremony. My wedding was held in April and the staff at the Mansion went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The location couldn't be better, food was wonderful, ceremony was unforgettable. All of our guests had a wonderful time and were blown away by the uniquely elegant location. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable.
