Andrea Hillis Photography

Andrea took some amazing pictures of our wedding. However, Andrea was next to impossible to get a hold of. Two months before the wedding she never returned a phone (wait, its also two month after my wedding and she still hasn't returned my phone calls) and she only responded to my mother email when she stated that we are finding a new photographer if you don't respond to us. She was not in touch with my wedding planner either. Actually my wedding planner warned me that she was having problems with Andrea and another wedding she was planning. I hate to bash Andrea because she did an awesome job with my photos. However, she did not take a lot of pictures that I wanted because we were not contact before the wedding. Also, she would walk around our venue looking for other photo shots for 10-15 minutes. And then she almost forgot that my husband and I were seeing each other before the wedding. So we only had 30 minutes to take pictures together. Like, I said Andrea's pictures are amazing but when your parents are paying her over $2,000 for your wedding day I expect a good professional photographer!!!

I was very disappointed with the quality and customer service andrea provided. Me and my husband were married in a very small ceremony with just us my mother and a pastor. He had just came back form iraq and we were very excited about our small intimate wedding and happy that we would be able to take photos and send them to our family. Andrea said she would edit the photos and the people walking in them would not be seen, her daughter stated her mom could work magic, as her whole family was there. It took numerous calls to get her to meet me for the photos and then when i got them i just cried because it seemed because it wasn't a big wedding she could care less and we had even expressed how we if all went well with our family wedding the following yr we would like to use her again but i guess our money or the fact that we were military was to her disliking. I contacted her 5 times after the photos were given to me with time in between in case she was busy and because of the holidays this last time she said she would call when she was out of the shoot and AGAIN she did not!! Needless to say i guess for big weddings and big money she will jump through hoops but for a small intimate wedding she could careless as long as she gets her paid upfront! No i would not recommend her and i told my wedding planner to warn her future brides!!

Andrea was engaged to shoot my daughter's wedding. Pros, she is not invasive and the DVD and CD come in a very nice decorative tin. Cons she was very slow in answering phone calls and e-mails. She totally ignored our one and only specific photo request (to shoot the flowers and venue before guests arrived.) The major disappointment was her total inability to adapt to the low light in the reception venue. She either lacked the proper equipment or training to shoot a good photo. The majority of the photos were underl lit, contained motion blur, or were so over exposed that people looked like ghosts floating in black space. I find this total unacceptable and unprofessional. As a point of comparison the photos taken by a guest (who is not a professional photographer) were markedly better. I attempted on several occasions to discuss this with Andrea and she could have cared less. I asked her to try to modify the photos in some way and she refused. I you would like to see samples of her work, please let me know.

Excellent photographs! Andrea was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating to find an arrangement for services that worked for us. She was friendly, on-time and had great ideas for photos that did not seem staged or contrived. She took a great mix of formal portraits of all parties and a fun bunch of natural shots too! We were pleased especially with the special DVD she created for us. Highly recommend!!

Amazing and such a pleasure to work with...but it's been a month and I am just so excited to see my pictures and I still haven't. But I know they will be worth the wait

Andrea and her team were wonderful! They were very creative and worked VERY well with everyone in the party. I was planning a wedding from out of town and she really helped me. She was fun and positive and got the job done. I have not yet seen the pictures though, but I can't imagine they would not be good. The only real 'negative' is that I wish I would have gotten more pictures on the 'must-take' list. I provided the list in advance and I don't think we got them all. As a bride, you don't want to try and remember all the different people you would like to take pictures with on that day, so you make the list in advance. I wish there would have been more help with that. I think I missed some key photos. However, I also understand that Andrea and her team were being respectful of my time with my guests. If she had pulled me aside for every picture I said I wanted, we would have only had time for pictures. SO, all in all it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend Hillis Photography!

Although we had a very small wedding, because it was just the two of us, Andrea did a professional, extraordinary job just like if it was for a big wedding. She made us feel comfortable and we had so much fun during the foto session and one can see this on the pictures. The pictures are gorgeous and look very spontaneous, not posed at all.We are very happy we choose Andrea for our wedding and I can only recommend you to choose her too, because her work is extraordinary.

Andrea is fantastic. Her rates are reasonable. The photos are wonderful. She is easy to work with. The best part is that you OWN the photos when she is done. We are so pleased with our pictures.She has several plans to choose from, so she can accomodate any budget. She is always easy to communicate with (phone or email), even after the wedding!
